10. Mobile App Permissions (iOS & Android)
The DentOp app on iOS and Android may request certain device permissions to deliver full functionality. We only collect data that is necessary for those features, ask for your consent before access, and you may change or revoke permissions at any time in your device settings.
📷 Camera
Purpose: To capture X-rays, intraoral or clinical photos, or documents directly in the app.
Our commitment: The camera activates only when you take an action to capture media. We do not record in the background, do not store media on the device beyond what you create, and do not share images with third parties without your consent.
🖼️ Photos & media library
Purpose: To let you select and upload photos from your device to attach to patient records or treatment documentation.
Our commitment: The app only reads files you explicitly choose. We do not scan your entire photo library or collect image metadata beyond the files you select.
📍 Location
Purpose: To support nearby clinic search, auto-fill address fields, and verify location when registering an account.
Our commitment: We request location access only when a related feature is in use. Location data is not retained indefinitely on our servers and is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising.
📁 Files & storage
Purpose: To read and save documents (PDFs, X-ray images, treatment reports) that you export or import in the app.
Our commitment: The app only accesses folders or storage you authorize. We do not read, copy, or delete unrelated files on your device. Uploads are transmitted over encrypted SSL/TLS connections.
🔔 Notifications
Purpose: To send appointment reminders, treatment status updates, system notices, and important alerts related to clinic operations.
Our commitment: Notifications are sent only when they relate to your use of the platform. You can turn off notification categories in the app or in device settings without losing core functionality.
Note: On iOS, the system shows a permission prompt the first time each permission is needed. On Android 6.0 and later, permissions are requested at runtime when you use a feature. You can review and manage all permissions under Settings > Apps > DentOp > Permissions (labels may vary slightly by device and OS version).
